Les Foster is a Drilling Operations Consultant and Strategic Advisor with more than 15 years of hands-on experience delivering high-performance drilling operations across some of the most complex environments in North America. Currently serving as a consultant to Petro-Hunt Permian, L.L.C. in the Midland and Delaware Basins, Les brings a proven track record of optimizing BHA configurations, reducing non-productive time, and providing real-time decision-making support that keeps wells on target and on schedule. His career spans work across the Permian Basin, North Slope, Marcellus, and Barnett Shale, including a decade with Schlumberger Pathfinder/D&M where he directed directional drilling operations across 20–30 active jobs per tour and supported major operators including Oxy, ExxonMobil/XTO, WPX, Marathon, Chevron, and BPX. He also spent three-plus years with Halliburton Sperry Sun, where he honed his expertise in BHA optimization, motor and RSS applications, and real-time downhole data analysis. Les's technical depth, spanning wellbore placement, trajectory control, torque and drag analysis, and anti-collision monitoring, makes him one of the most knowledgeable voices in the Permian Basin directional drilling community, and a natural fit as PBADD's Technical Director.
