Taber Wood is a Fort Worth native and Permian Basin-based energy professional with nearly two decades of experience spanning directional drilling, operations management, technical sales, and energy technology. He currently serves as a Technical Account Manager at Patriot Drilling Services, where he manages key operator and service provider relationships across the Permian Basin. His career began at Halliburton in 2007 as a Directional Driller in the Barnett Shale, and over the following twelve years he rose through the ranks in drilling coordination, technical sales, and account management before serving as MidCon Country Manager. After Halliburton, Taber took his operational and technology experience to RigUp, where he and his team designed a mobile equipment rental application for oilfield service companies. From there, he took the reins at HRH Operating, an oil production company founded by his great-grandfather Howard Herschap, a decorated WWII veteran, and his uncle Ron Herschap, operating 77 wells across five counties in South Texas. He has also been at the forefront of energy innovation, developing one of the first 100% off-grid power solutions in the Permian Basin fueled entirely by flared natural gas, turning wasted emissions into productive energy to run a bitcoin mine outside of Snyder, Texas. Taber was an early member of PBADD and, after returning to the Permian Basin, rejoined the board to help advance the association's mission: supporting veterans and elevating the directional drilling profession. Away from work, Taber volunteers as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for CASA West Texas, a cause he took up because he believes every child in the system deserves a consistent, dedicated advocate in their corner. He is married to his best friend Kary, and together they are raising four kids: Racer, Wilder, Ledger, and their daughter Kinsler.
